Australia and the World Trade Organisation: standing resolute while giants battle

Please join us for our next event in Geneva featuring guest speakers, Ambassador George Mina, Australia's Ambassador and Permanent Representative to the WTO; and providing a Swiss perspective to the discussions, we are honoured to welcome Ambassador Erwin Bollinger, Head of SECO's (State Secretariat for Economic Affairs) Bilateral Economic Relations.

Moderated by AusCham's President, Vicki Tanner, the discussions will include the following questions;
- What is the approach of Australia and Switzerland towards the WTO?
- What cases is the WTO currently handling for Australia and Switzerland?
- How can companies take action against unfair international trade practices and discrimination?
- How do the current geopolitical tensions affect the WTO and its relevance?

Our speakers:
H.E. George Mina was appointed Ambassador, Australian Permanent Mission to the WTO, Geneva, in August 2020. Prior to taking up his current role, he served as First Assistant Secretary, Consular and Crisis Management Division, in Canberra.
H.E. Erwin Bollinger, Attorney, LLM, is the Head of Bilateral Economic Relations Division and Federal Council Delegate for Trade Agreements since June 2018. From 1995 to 1999, as Deputy Head of the WTO division, Ambassador Bollinger dealt with different legal issues with regard to the WTO.
