A Guided Visit and Introduction to The European Space Agency
Thursday, February 29, 2024
The German Australian Business Council is pleased to invite members and friends to a guided visit and introduction to The European Space Agency on Thursday, 29 February at 6:00pm – 9:00pm at ESOC Darmstadt, Germany.
A two hour tour of ESOC premises, including general information about the European Space Agency in addition to more specific information about its activities in Australia and the deep-space antennas, followed by fingerfood and the opportunity for networking.
As Europe's centre of excellence for satellite operation, ESOC is home to the engineering teams that control spacecraft in orbit, manage ESA’s global tracking station network, and design and build the systems on the ground that support missions in space. Since 1967, more than 80 satellites belonging to ESA and its partners have been successfully flown from Darmstadt, Germany. Head of the Mission Operations Department, Simon Plum will guide us through the evening.
