Join us at ‘Tech Australia 2019’ at Australia House in London to hear from headline speaker Dominic Price, Head of R&D and Futurist at global leader Atlassian, about the future trends shaping the Australian and international tech industry, followed by a panel discussion with our experts on successfully scaling and entering new markets.

Dominic Price, Head of Research & Development, Atlassian

As the Head of Research & Development at Atlassian, Dom has responsibilities spanning 7 global Research and Development centres. As the in-house “Team Doctor”, he has helped Atlassian scale by being ruthlessly efficient and effective, with one eye on the future and has also pioneered the Team Playbook. Prior to his role at Atlassian, Dom was the General Manager - Program Management for a global gaming company and a Director of Deloitte.

Founded in Sydney in 2002, Atlassian now serves over 125,000 companies worldwide across the United States, Europe and the Asia Pacific. 

 

Paul Webster, Executive and Founder, International Investment Services

International Investment Services supports businesses expanding internationally with Non-Executive Director services, consultancy, project management and training for staff. International Investment Services is part of the Gateley Plc Group, who advise on more corporate finance deals in the UK than any other firm.

Paul is the lead Business & Banking Specialist to the Department of International Trade supporting inward investors in navigating their UK market entry with a focus on emerging market, complex ownership structures and high-risk industries for anti-money laundering.Over his career Paul has directly supported over 1,000 companies to expand their operations internationally, working with Fortune 500 global corporates, to ambitious SMEs, start-ups and scale-ups.

Prior to his current appointments Paul was Director, Australia and NZ for UKTI Inward Investment following a banking career in Australia. Paul is Vice Chair of the Institute of Economic Development, a Non-Executive Director to three scale-up SMEs and consultant to Judge Business School, Executive Education at Cambridge University.

 

Leanne Kemp, Chief Executive Officer & Founder, Everledger

Leanne Kemp is the Chief Executive Officer and Founder of Everledger. With extensive experience in emerging technology, business, jewellery and insurance, Leanne is pushing boundaries with Everledger, addressing real-world challenges through driving transparency and trust along global supply chains using emerging technology.

Her entrepreneurial success has led to her appointment as the Queensland Chief Entrepreneur for Australia in 2018, a role to further develop the startup ecosystem, attract investment and support job creation throughout the state of Queensland. She is the first female entrepreneur to hold this position. 

In recognition of her leadership role in technology, Leanne has won multiple awards including Innovator of the Year 2018 at the Women in IT Awards (London) and the Advance Global Australian Awards 2018 for Technology Innovation.

 

James Hickman, Chief Commercial Officer, FairFX

FairFX has taken a revolutionary approach to the whole foreign exchange market for both individuals and businesses.

As the Chief Commercial Officer, James is responsible for overseeing the company’s business development, sales and operations strategies.

Having been involved in currency markets for over 20 years, James has set up several successful prepaid currency card programmes as well as developing a leading online money transfer platform.

 

Stuart Richardson, Founder & Managing Partner, Adventure Capital

Stuart is the Founder & Managing Partner of Adventure Capital, with over 20 years experience as a serial entrepreneur and pioneering venture investor in Australia. His diverse interests and successes in building businesses range across venture capital, property, FinTech and more recently the food, beverage and hospitality industry.

In 2011, Stuart founded YBF Ventures (previously York Butter Factory) as a destination for technology entrepreneurs, forging partnerships with ASX200, Fortune1000, State and Federal Governments, and during this time was a Co-Founder or Founding investor of multiple market leaders including PropTech Equiem, Hoist (in joint venture with Mirvac), financial wellness platform PayActiv, and wealth robo-advisor Clover.com.au.

 

Andrew Grill, Practical Futurist, The Practical Futurist

Practical Futurist and former Global Managing Partner at IBM, Andrew Grill is a popular and sought-after presenter and commentator on issues around digital disruption, the workplace of the future, emerging technologies such as blockchain and artificial intelligence, digital diversity, personal branding, and employee advocacy.

An experienced corporate leader, Andrew has launched and run technology companies in Europe and Australia and worked with and for some of the world’s leading companies including Telstra, Vodafone, Nestle, BBC, American Express, John Lewis, and Unilever. He speaks to and consults for organisations world-wide to develop their strategy in a world rife with digital disruption.

 

Catherine Woo, Chief Executive Officer, Australia-United Kingdom Chamber of Commerce

Catherine Woo is the CEO for the Australia-United Kingdom Chamber of Commerce. Based in London, Catherine has more than a decade of experience in international trade and has previously held leadership roles working with multinational and fast-growth companies to support their global expansion.

Most recently, Catherine was the Investment Director for the Victorian Government of Australia’s London office where she led multi-sectoral trade and investment activities across the UK, Europe and Israel.
